Breathless (1959) - la pratique rend parfait

A friend and I started learning French. We had our 12th class on Thursday and can now finally string sentences together! its very exciting. its at the stage where suddenly you start to understand how it all works and all the words you knew, but could never use in the same sentence can now be used together and actually make sense! Because of that class im now quite obsessed with it. I stayed home on Friday night and watched this movie 'Breathless' Director Jean-Luc Godard starring Jean-Paul Belmondo and Jean Seberg. I watched and listened and woke up this morning with French words going through my head! I know alot more than I thought I did.
During the movie i recognised this t shirt (in pic above) and remembered the limited edition tee shirts from Kate and Laura Mulleavy of Rodarte for the 50th anniversary release.

Jean Seberg is so pretty

Western Me.

Once Upon a Time in the West

Directed by Sergio Leone

I went to see this movie knowing what i was in for, a long hearty Western (its 165mins long). I had never actually seen the whole movie before and was thoroughly impressed by the end of it. SO many close ups of dirty old men, their guns and one hot babe. Everyone is introduced as a bad guy and the story slowly unravels. there are so many sweet one-liners, one well paced captured show down, an actual death (on set of a stunt man RIP) and dirt on everything.

Sweet Surprise

I recently stumbled upon these beautiful images of Frida Kahlo. To me me these images capture such a beautiful, other side to her that was not-so-often caught in her paintings. I suppose her paintings expressed her sorrow and pain rather than the beauty she was from the outside. Anyway, they struck an inner chord of mine, maybe its because most of the images I see of her are paintings, so somehow seems fresher and new.

BLACK AMBER AMULET

This small collection of handmade perfume amulets have been on my mind since the day I was introduced to them via ANYONE,GIRL created in San Fransisco by NOMAD, a collaboration between Littlefeather Organics’ Emmelie Brunetti and  LA rocker Corey Parks. Each beautiful amulet is an exclusive, one-of-a-kind creation produced in Southern California. The solid perfumes which are all brewed together by Emmelie Brunetti, who also has an amazing range of scents, are poured into vintage silver Navajo pill boxes, which can be worn around the neck or on a keychain via leather and colored beads, each comfortably packed inside a medicine bag handmade by Corey Parks from her, quote, ‘Lookout Mountain home-atelier’.
Have a look through all of the offering below of which you can gush a little more over here.
